Each 30 ml contains:
Liver extract  1.715 % w/v
Thiamine HCl 5 mg  
Riboflavine  2 mg
Pyridoxine   2 mg
Nicotinamide 15mg
Lysine Hcl  120 mg
Folic acid   0.25 mg
Manganese sulphate  4 mg

Ferric ammonium citrate 50 mg
Caffeine citrate 57 mg
Ethanol  3.15 ml

1. WHAT SUPADEX TONIC IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR 
Supadex tonic is a proprietary preparation containing nine (9) essential vitamins and minerals, together with a mild stimulant (caffeine) to boast alertness. These vitamins and minerals work synergistically to enhance cell metabolism thus ensuring vitality and well being. Supadex tonic will therefore help boast your appetite, supplement your daily intake of vitamins, iron and other essential minerals required for a healthy life.

2. PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS BEFORE TAKING SUPADEX TONIC
Contraindication:
• Do not take Supadex tonic if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of Supadex tonic.
• Or if you have primary hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis, hemolytic anemia unless iron deficiency anemia is also present, peptic ulcer disease, regional enteritis, or ulcerative colitis and in those receiving repeated blood transfusions. Use cautiously on long term basis.

Pregnancy and lactation: 
Food supplements containing iron are often recommended for pregnant and breast feeding women as no adverse effects have been documented.

Paediatric patients:
Over dose of iron may be fatal in children, patient should be treated immediately.

Geriatric patients:
Iron induced constipation is common in geriatric patients; hence proper diet should be followed.

Taking other Medicines:
• Please inform your Pharmacist or Doctor if you are taking or about to take any other medicine, including those obtained without a prescription.

Driving and using Machines 
• Supadex tonic is not known to cause sedation or dizziness, hence operating machinery or any activity that requires alertness may still proceed.

3. HOW TO TAKE SUPADEX TONIC
• Adults should take 2 – 4 teaspoon 3 times daily.
• Children aged 12 years and above should take 1 -2 teaspoons 3 times daily.
• Children aged 6 – 12 years should take a one teaspoon 2 times daily.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Supadex tonic can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Side effects mainly due to iron include diarrhea, constipation, nausea, black stools and epigastric pain have been reported. Iron containing liquids may also cause temporary staining of teeth.

5. POSSIBLE INTERACTION WITH FOOD AND/ OR DRUGS
Supadex tonic should not be taken together with foods such as yoghurt, cheese, eggs, milk, cereals, tea and coffee as they may impair oral iron absorption. Antacids and aminoglycoside antibiotics should not be taken together either.

6. SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT OF OVER DOSAGE 
Patient may experience lethargy, nausea, and vomiting, green and then tarry stools, weak and rapid pulse, hypotension, dehydration, acidosis and coma upon taking an overdose of Supadex tonic mainly as a result of iron toxicity. Symptoms may clear for about 24 hours. Immediate support of airway, respiration and circulation is to be provided. Emesis should be induced with ipecac in conscious patients while gastric lavage is recommended for unconscious patients. Emesis should be followed with lavage using 1 % sodium bicarbonate.

7. HOW TO STORE SUPADEX TONIC
Keep tonic out of reach or sight of children and should be stored below 300c. Keep it in the original package. Check the expiry date on the label. Do not use product if the expiry date has passed.

In addition to the essential vitamins and minerals already listed, the other ingredients in Supadex tonic are: Sucrose, Sodium saccharin, Propyl paraben, methyl paraben, Sodium benzoate, Citric acid, Disodium edetate, Caramel and Pineapple flavour.
